HK in the Winter

As I stated in my last post big changes were on there way and the most current is a change in spacial arrangement, more to the point is that we are now currently on an island off the coast of
China. This particular island is Hong Kong and it is apparently mostly made out of concrete. I am sure that there is some dirt under there somewhere though I have not seen any. While the island I'm sure is man made they have no doubt taken some creative license and turned the area into either a topographical nightmare or a non-stop thrill ride with all the ups and downs that one can handle in such a limited space. Still being as though I am from the pacific northwest I prefer the monotony of hills to the flat landishness of the midwest.

Obamunism: The next few days will represent a big Change

Over the next few days several changes will take place in my little world, mainly that on friday the wife and I will be on an airplane bound for Hong Kong. Right now the airplane is scheduled to be a Boeing 747-400 which is a few feet shorter than the one in the pictures I posted the other day. As cramped as it may be I suspect that I will have just enough leg room to fall asleep for 2-3 hours of a 9+ hour flight. When I rub the weariness out of my eyes I will still act surprised when I look over skyscrapers of downtown Hong Kong.
The plan as it stands now will be to spend a day in Hong Kong (HK) adjusting to the time change and then off to Ho Chi Minh. We will then be traveling north to Hanoi and taking pictures and maybe even posting them. Afterwards we will return to HK and spend a few days, wherein we will take a day trip to Macau (spellcheck). Finally we will fly to Cheng du, Sichuan Province, and eventually to Juizhaigou (Spellcheck).
This obviously has nothing to do with Obamunism it's just a funny word that I heard yesterday and have wanted to work it into something.

First Flight Mania

Today was the official first flight 747-8 Freighter from the Everett Boeing factory. At 9 am we started outside in order to get good seats for the festivities which were supposed to start at 10 am. The weather in Everett being what it is decided to sock in the runway with low cloud cover and poor visibility despite the promising suck holes that were showing up this morning. Eventually mother nature relinquished the blue sky to us poor cold airplane junkies and they decided to let the thing fly.
